Aurubis Technology Centre opened at the University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy

A new technology center developed with the support of Aurubis Bulgaria has opened at the University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy - Sofia (UCTM) from the beginning of the academic year 2022/2023. Students from the Department of Metallurgy of Non-Ferrous Metals and Alloys will have the opportunity to conduct their practical exercises there.

"The center was built entirely with the assistance of our partner Aurubis Bulgaria. Thanks to our long-standing cooperation, we also have methodological guidance for the development of the curricula and the preparation of interns, scholars and scientific research projects", Prof. Dr. Senya Terzieva, Rector of UCTM, said. The modern laboratory is equipped with a full set of professional analytical equipment and instruments for conducting classes.

For the second academic year Aurubis Bulgaria has as well granted scholarships to students from UCTM. The scholarships are awarded for achieving excellent grades during their studies.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Milen Kadiiski awarded four students with Aurum Rubrum scholarships - Borislav Chilingirov and Martin Goranov studying Metallurgy of Nonferrous and Precious Metals, Nikola Angelov, studying Recycling, and Deyana Koleva, studying Biotechnology.
