Aurubis Bulgaria received Business Honoris Causa award for its sustainable social investment policy and the project "Zlatitsa - the Town of Grandfather's Mitten"

The company was awarded in particular for the group of projects aimed at the development of the municipality of Zlatitsa. The promotion of Zlatitsa as the "Town of the Grandfather's Mitten" was initiated by Aurubis Bulgaria and financed by the company. A theme park and a website have been created, as the project also supports events for children, for the promotion of family holidays and preservation of historical heritage - such as the restoration of the Zlatica Metoch.

These projects are related to the company's corporate policy for sustainable partnership - support for education in collaboration with schools, kindergartens and community centers, for development of culture and health care, financing of health clinics in the villages of Petrich, Tsarkvishte and Karlievo.

Aurubis Bulgaria invests more than one million BGN annually to support projects in the municipalities of Pirdop, Zlatitsa and Anton.

The Business Honoris Causa awards are presented for the second year by the 24 Hours Daily to companies that improve the environment through their responsible entrepreneurship and social investment policies.

At the Business Honoris Causa award ceremony attended the Prime Minister Acad. Nikolay Denkov, Minister of Environment and Water Yulian Popov, Minister of Education Prof. PhD. Galin Tsokov, representatives of institutions and business.

The company invited the Mayor of Zlatitsa municipality Eng. Stoyan Genov to accept the award together.
